Default Pahya's Guide to Gatherables!

Pahya's Guide to Gatherables

Erinn is chock full of things that you can pick up, chop down, dig up, scoop, poke, pull and punch to give you little bits and bobbles to fill your inventory. After spending twenty minutes running in circles trying to locate a cow ("If I were a cow where would I be...") I thought it might be helpful to write down all these collectible items along with where and how to obtain them and what they might be used for.

Given that I'm not a closed beta player I'm certain that there's tons I'm missing but this is a guide in progress! Hopefully we'll learn a bit from each other. I've made notations for information that I know I am missing. Please feel free to add to what I've got thus far.

--------------------------------------------------------

Apples - (You guessed it, apple trees)
  • Found: Road from Dunburton to Bangor Southeast of Dunburton, Dunburton near the Church
  • Method: Attack the tree, best done empty handed to lessen wear on weapons and amount of stamina used per hit.
  • Use: Eaten, cooking ingredient

Barley - (Fields)
  • Found: So far only known to be in Tir Chonaill.
  • Method: Sickle in right hand, empty left. Click on a patch of ground in the field where you pointer icon changes
  • Use: Can be ground into flour at the windmill. Flour is a cooking ingredient.

Berry - (Trees and bushes)
  • Found: Heeellllo. Long as your graphics card is working you can find them.
  • Method: Attack, empty handed is best.
  • Use: Can be eaten, has the effect of lowering your weight, Erinn's Slimfast.
Branches - (Trees and bushes)
  • Found: Again, hello.
  • Method: Attack the tree or bush, best to do empty handed to reduce wear on weapons and to decrease stamina cost.
  • Use: Unknown

Cobwebs - (Spiders)
  • Found: Anywhere spiders are, plentiful in Tir Chonaill graveyard.
  • Method: No need to skill spiders, they drop them on the ground as they move around, simply pick them up. Keep in mind that holding the ALT key will highlight any items around you and make them easier to pick up.
  • Use: Tailoring, used to make silk thread.

Corn - (Fields)
  • Found: Around Emain Macha
  • Method: With sickle equiped in right hand, click on patch of harvestable land
  • Use: Eaten, cooking ingredient

Egg - (Chicken)
  • Found: Pretty much all over, just look down. There's probably a chicken there.
  • Method: Empty your hands and click the chicken. If it moves you fail.
  • Use: Can be eaten, cooking ingredient
Firewood -(Trees)
  • Found: It's a tree. Not that hard.
  • Method: Axe in right hand, empty left hand. Click the tree.
  • Use: Making fires, each fire takes 5 pieces of firewood.
Gems(various) - (Various posts, buildings carts, etc)
  • Found: All over.
  • Method: Attack the object, best to do this empty handed to reduce wear on weapons and to decrease stamina cost. Drop best from man made objects.
  • Use: Quests
Milk - (Cow)
  • Found: In pastures, easiest/earliest I've found are east of Dunbarton in the fields.
  • Method: Empty left hand, equip an empty bottle in your right hand. Empty bottle can be bought at general stores. One bottle holds one serving of milk, once the milk is used either through crafting or drank the bottle is empty and usable again. Just like Zelda.
  • Use: Eat, cooking ingredient. Note: Using the milk while cooking empties the bottle, making it possible to craft beside a cow using only one or two bottles to cut down on time and bag space.

Nail - (Various posts, buildings, carts etc)
  • Found: Everywhere.
  • Method: Attack the object, best to do this empty handed to reduce wear on weapons and to decrease stamina cost
  • Use: Blacksmithing material, Part-time job quest
Potatoes - (Fields)
  • Found: So far, only know outside of Dunbarton.
  • Method: Weeding Hoe in right hand, empty left. Click on a patch of ground in the field where you pointer icon changes.
  • Use: Can be eaten, Cooking ingredient

Water(Bottled Water) - (Stream)
  • Found: Adellia Stream beside Tir Chonaill Blacksmith, Well near the Church in Dunburton
  • Method: Empty left hand, empty bottle in right hand. Click the stream. Empty bottle can be bought at general stores
  • Use: Drink I assume, otherwise Unknown. Put a French label on it an sell it?

Wheat - (Fields)
  • Found: So far only known to be in Tir Chonaill.
  • Method: Sickle in right hand, empty left. Click on a patch of ground in the field where you pointer icon changes
  • Use: Can be ground into flour at the windmill. Flour is a cooking ingredient.
Wool - (Sheep)
  • Found: In pastures all over Erinn, usually the outskirts of town.
  • Method: Equip a gathering knife or other dagger in right hand, nothing in left. Left click a sheep. If the sheep moves while shearing you fail. Best method is to click a sheep only immediately after it moves, so you know it will hold still.
  • Use: Tailoring material, spun into thread
