To repeat the subject heading back to you, what is so special about being a senior member?

Nothing, really. There's no special perks that comes with being a senior member, only that it can signifies to others that you're familiar with the forum and community. However, since anyone can reach senior member once they hit 100 posts, it's nothing remarkably special that boosts you to fame. As far as I could see, what really counts towards your reputation is your willingness to and effectiveness in helping people, your knowledge of Mabinogi, and (this is just a speculation) possibly your popularity in-game. That's what will earn you recognition; not your post count and title.
