Some people exaggerate on the difficulty of G1.
Ciar Basic's golem is pretty easy to smashmill to pieces. Fire Counter does work on it, but has more chances for mistakes being slower and all. The great thing is, you can use Nao or revive at the last statue.

The gem dungeons have your everyday monsters that you fight, except in higher quantity. Windmill immunity from finishing will be really helpful here.
The only problems may be the gargoyles and the fact you can't revive, but that's what bringing someone else is for. Quite a few people go to Another World on Saturdays, so it shouldn't be too hard to find a person willing to lend a helping hand. The golem appears in the Silver Gem dungeon and is pretty much the Ciar Basic one, so you don't have to worry about the rest of the gems if you have trouble with it solo. If you want a backup plan, try the Recruitment Camp of these forums.

Light Gargoyles can be smashmilled, but it's probably safer to go with ice slashing or ice barraging. Ice barrage Heavy Gargoyles.

Wisps actually tell you what they're going to do with exclamation marks, but you can just n+1 > defense or counter and read their actions. Most of the time, standing beside them and waiting out their skill (if used) will give you an opening when they try to use another skill. You may also windmill to force them to cast magic. Ice barraging them can also work.

For Lycanthropes, it's best to get a slow two hit weapon and 1+1+Windmill. Move away and read what it's going to do next. If it's a Smash, you can 1+1+Windmill again. If it's Defense, Windmill>Windmill. If it's Counter, Windmill and run back to see the skill again. If you're lazy, you can just stand on the spot and Windmill>Windmill until it dies. You may lure one from the others towards you with an ice bolt.

What you should work on is getting a nicely upgraded weapon. That's where most of your damage easily comes from. It can be done while ranking up your windmill too.
