The farthest my pet can target, manually, is about as far as I can see before the enemy fades into the background.
There may be times where the pet becomes 'stuck' because of certain ai settings... or something. You may have to tell it to tell it to attack again. If that doesn't work, a quick fix I use is to use the
rest command, via hotkey, and
then tell it to attack.
I think telling it to rest resets the AI. Sometimes it doesn't... though I'm no expert in the actual mechanics.
