Action Figures
I'm wondering... why are they so expensive? Up to 20 dollars I can understand, but when I see some hitting way up to 80 dollars and above, I think theres a problem.
I really want the Succubus action figure (don't question my tastes!)
But I have a question about it for all those who've bought stuff like this before.
Buy Mabinogi: Succubus 1/8 Scale PVC Figure - Anime Wild
In the preview picture, there is another shot of her skirt half torn up. Can anyone explain to me how that happens? Someone told me it was bendy plastic that clips on, but the original quality picture makes me doubt it a bit.
Or like this Nao figure:
Buy Mabinogi: Nao Nendoroid PVC Figure - Anime Wild
The preview picture shows not only her arms moved around, but also her WINKING. Wahhhh?!
Here is an example with a figure of Nagato from Melancholy of Suzumiya Haurhi:
Buy Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi: Yuki Nagato 1/8 Scale PVC Statue - Anime Wild
Are they screwing with us? Are those poses sold separately? Or do we get exchangeable parts?

Three reasons:
1. They're a better quality than those crappy pokemon action figures they sell at Wal-mart. better quality means more money.
2. It's an anime character. It's got a fan base like nothing you've ever seen. And the people who make these things know that.
3. Collectors. Chances are they'll be a whole set for people to collect and store, only to sell them later on for a higher price.
Well, that's what I think anyway. I have my share of action figures, but now I'm curious as to why people find intrest....partly because that Nao figure is ADORABLE <3

The "why is it so expensive" was more of a rhetorical question.
The real question was about the different poses, clothing, and facial expressions you clearly can't get without having multiple figures/parts, which they seem to show it on the preview picture anyways.

I probably wouldn't have noticed that winking, that is pretty strange.
Slightly related note, I just noticed this post over at kotaku about Wonder Fest, now I bet those are expensive.
Warning: Scantly clad figurines

judging from the look of the box, a different head piece, arms, and legs would be seemingly easy to do

Hmm. Looks like it.
If ANYONE here has an action figure that pertains to my question, please answer.

Action figures are just collectibles, and people want them.
Supply-in-demand? Y'know?
It's kinda like... less say... a Mabinogi action figure? Everyone would want one, so it should go up through the roof maybe yes? The chances are someone will still buy it.
