Her voice doesn't sound that well suited for her when I first started watching it but then at around ep 4? I realized it actually fit with her character. A standard female voice wouldn't fit for the setting (with all the gothic-ish stuff like the sun).

The 13th episode is out and I just watched it yestarday, the plot seems to be developing nicely

I already saw the manga version, i watched ep13 as well yesterday. They're starting to stray away from each other a bit such as in the manga Maka uses Subaki for a while but in the anime she never did.
