Kitae's Psychological Dramatic Anime Review #1

Yesterday I watched the entire series of School Days. It clearly deserves to be in my list of Psychological Dramatic animes.

Length: 12 Episodes with several alternate episodes

Genres: comedy, drama, horror, psychological, romance, slice of life

17+: Explicit Sexual Themes, Mild Language, Excessive Violence

Schools Days is an anime that begins off quite nicely, mimicking what most would agree is a humor/love story in a ordinary school. What seems to be a start of a awkward relationship between the perverted Motoko Ito and the shy Kotonoha Katsura develops into a promising relationship. However, the anime takes a sharp turn to the opposite direction as Sekai Saionji, the girl who hooked the two couples together, begins to show her hidden affection for Motoko, starting a love triangle.

This love triangle leads to cheating, and now it seems like a drama/slice-of-life anime. However, this quickly turns around and turns into a softcore-porn, as many would call it, and then quickly into a psychological thriller.

When Kotonoha Katsura finally accepts the fact that Motoko Ito is no longer interested in her, her sanity snaps.

No longer bearing any sanity at all, Kotonoha Katsura begins to live in a fantasy world of denial, constantly talking on the phone when no one is there, and always setting up dates to end up spending the day alone.

Highschool Days finally develops its way into the Horror and Violence genre. What happens next? If you are interested, you should watch it yourself.

An ending never seen in the anime (game only), which is actually not even close to devastating as the actual anime (the ending is quite different from the anime as well, and theres not much to ruin):

Though the ending is not as violent as the other violent shows, its one of the most bizzare and scariest thing I have ever seen in my entire life.

I read School Days like a month ago, it was pretty interesting, except the last part was kind of messed up.

A little bump to this thread~~~~~~~

I'd like to discuss the Anime VS. Manga.
I saw the Anime really long ago but I rewatched it recently. I didn't dare looking an eye at Episode 12, but today I watched half of it, up until when Sekai brought up the blade and was about to stab Makoto.

I read the whole Manga just now, pretty short. I read it in raw then found out they had an English translated one in Onemanga.com. Found a few translation mistakes on the way hehe XD

So yeah. Don't read below if you don't want spoilers.
At the end of Ch.11, Kotonoha already brings up her saw ready to cut through Sekai's head... I was freaked out lol. I didn't want to look at the next page, but luckily I skipped to Ch.12 and saw Sekai didn't die, so I flipped back to the last page of Ch.11 and it seems like Makoto stood in front of Sekai and got a minor injury instead, and ended up at the hospital.

What I found unexpected was that Sekai came to visit Makoto, but Kotonoha didn't. Maybe she was traumatized? But it turns out Kokoro called Makoto saying her sister is dead in a pool of blood, and Sekai reveals that she stabbed her. Then she hugs Makoto and that they will be together forever ~_~ I hate her 100% in the Manga XD Makoto makes a "Homg you're a monster now" face in the end.
Manga isn't very violent compared to the Anime I believe. But gee, Makoto is so much better in the Manga; he didn't make out with 7 girls at least.

P.S. to Kitaek: It's Itou Makoto, not Mokoto Ito. *points first post*
