Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann
Best. Anime. Series. Of. All. Time.
I speak the truth, folks. I think this is my absolute favorite anime I've ever seen. I laughed, I cried, I cried again, I cried tears of joy, I laughed some more, and then I cried drills. This series really has it all. It's action-y, epic, comedy, a tiny bit of romance, serious, and just... wow. I'm not that great at explaining, but I didn't see a TTGL thread and I thought I would start one. MINOR SPOILERS P.S. I are nub and dun know how to put a video in my post. Would anyone so kindly explain it to meh? EDIT: Nevermind...

never heard anyone say that...
the ending is quite sad imo but still a happy ending, sad because one of the main character "disappears"

Hmm what type of anime is this? See lots of mecha in that video, i don't really like mech anime, stopped liking it about 10 years ago after i watched some of the older gundam from the 80's and seeing how so many just copy that.
So is the mecha part of this anime just "there" or is the whole story based around mecha? If it's the former, i'll give it a shot. |

A great series this was.
To answer your question, osayidan, the mecha is not just there yet it's not the main focus. I would say that the mecha is just the way they fight, although Gurren Lagann bears some major significance. It's more of a human-survival type thing. |

Manly tears were shed. God the music they used in this anime were epic.
I say the ending was fine. It's not like, OMG THE SUPER AWESOME MAGICAL POWER OF THE SPIRAL SAVED HER FROM DYING!!! That would be really lame. Oh, and there will be a movie for it sometime in the fall. It'll be called Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann: Gurren Chapter "The movie will be a compilation of the events of the first arc of the series (episodes one through fifteen) with some newly animated scenes. In conjunction with the release of the movie, Gainax has released series of music videos entitled Gurren Lagann Parallel Works which contains alternative stories of Gurren Lagann set to songs from the original soundtrack. A second movie has been announced." Edit: It'll be out Sep 6. Also, Simon and kamina remind me of the Squirtle Squad. (see sig)
