Although this is very old thought I'd share it with you guys because this has got to be one of thee best Naruto 'AMVs' ever created.

Ignore the 'Naruto' and just think of the details, effect, sounds, etc... for you Naruto haters.

I'm sure people who've already seen it will agree with me :P

It's almost like a trailer for a movie.

No matter how many times I see it, it still sends me shivers :O

Extraordinary! Metal Gear Solid has never united with Naruto like this. It is a true working of a determined Muse.

I think he used Adobe Premiere for the most part, and maybe some other programs too. But that is just wonderful. Once I have the materials I hope to make something like this. Maybe a tribute to Hinata.

You like Hinata? xDD I personally like Neji. Hyuuga for the win. Although, since neither of them have died yet, it might make more sense to make one for poor Asuma. =(

Excellent job.
The guys who made naruto themselves couldn't do any better.

Even for Naruto, which I am still a fan of (but really really sick of), this was really worth watching.

I think it started and ended badly. At the end the music abruptly changes when sasuke is being emo in that room, and then shows the credits and whatnot, it should have ended right before that.

The rest was alright in terms of how well it was done, but if this was intended as some sort of fake trailer, it doesn't work at all as a trailer, simply because it's too long, and too chronological.

And i'm not taking into account what anime it is at all, i'm just very critical about AMVs these days. I quit practicing making them in 2002 or 3 because so many people were spewing them out.

So as an AMV - 7/10 if you cut off the beginning and end.
As a fictional trailer, which is what this seems to be - 4/10

Trailers start to fail if it's getting too close to the 2 minute mark.
Here's one of the best examples of a fan made trailer i've been able to find in the past 4 years:

Notice how it's very short, to the point, doesn't necessarily follow any chronology of the plot, and avoids showing too much of anything while still showing enough to get people interested.

I give this one 7/10 as a trailer.
Official movie trailers, i often give 2/10, so even this naruto one did 'well'.

I actually thought it started pretty well, although the middle part where it showed a bunch of scenes with Team Shikamaru fighting did kind of draw away the coolness a bit. But then, I'm not an AMV critic, so. ^-^' (I am a Naruto fan though)

Here's how i think it should have been put together, to be much more effective:

1 - end the video at 3:20
2 - cut off everything from |00:00 - 0:46|
3 - move |3:21 - 3:48| to the begining of the video
4 - and then do several cuts and edits to the scenes left in between shown, making it show less of the scenes, and less chronologically. Add the text that they showed at the begining at the new start of the video.

Try and watch it that way, helps to load 2 windows of the video and place the playback position to reflect step 2 and 3, then for step 1 just stop watching at 3:20. I think it's much better already without even seeing it edited for real.
