(like in Romeo and Juliet as well) Just because many people die doesn't make the ending bad, as a matter of fact, it makes the ending more unexpected and rich story-wise. and the show is called Death Note, so I'd imagine many people would die, even main characters. But that's just in my opinion, I was just curious.
I do miss L though...He was cool... But killing off main characters is unexpected in shows really, especially the one who's trying to bring the murderer to justice. It adds some realism to the show.

The tragedy would've been greater in Romeo and Juliet if they didn't carry out the entire process in less than one week.
Plus their age difference is pretty disgusting.
There really was no drama.
And no, its not very tragic, as the way Near caught Kira wasn't as close as great as the way many other things went down in the show. It was really a half hearted ending for someone who could've made it so much better.
Sure, the death of Light had to come, but just like that? I mean come on.
Especially the Anime, where he actually gets alway and dies on a stair case. Wtf?
Anyways, to make sure we're suddenly not talking about Death Note here...
Its the code geass ending using Yugioh.
Though it wasn't as good as the Higurashi opening with yugioh.
ALL HAIL BRITTANIA!!!
