Default Boredom will Kill Me

A/N: >> Not sure if this would go here since this is more of a screenshot/movie section. But you're free
The explanation was much longer but that's all I understood. I really was more interested in the spells themselves since they were so shiny... I guess I never really noticed that 'surge' since I wasn't really "experienced" in Magic field... I can't cast a spell to save my life. A couple of days ago, I got an Icebolt book from completing a request from the Cheif. Maybe I'll read it sometime.
to move it around.

-Boredom will Kill Me-
The title has nothing to do with the story...

You're walking around and you find the most peculiar book lying in the grass.

Inside has many handwritten notes about combat and specific monsters in the most awful handwriting. The drawings are nice though, very accurate from what you can make out.

There's lots of miscellaneous information in it as well. How to save gold, the Holy Water economy, doodles of people here and there.

What really catches your eye is the writing on the margins. They're in a neater scrawl then the rest of it...

ENTRY 1

I have no idea where to start. Well. I suppose I could start with my Berry Hunting, here in Tir Chonaill... See. I asked Duncan Doughnuts to give me some volunteer work. Then I started practicing my Lute in the Square nearby his house.

I really have to get my Lute fixed. It's all beat up and the strings are starting to become thin. I'm scared that one might snap on me and hurt my hand like last time. Or maybe getting a new Lute all together would do. I wish I could buy a Flute. I heard that they could be purchased at the city of Emain Macha from a traveler. They even told me the directions to get there but the seal to Emain Macha is still blocking the way. I checked a few days ago, it's still shut tight...

Emain Macha also seemed to be the "Holy City of the Supporters". Sounds like my kind of place... Rui -- Local Support Minstrel~! It has a nice ring to it.

Anyway. An owl flew in and dropped my quest scroll on my head! Stupid owl. THAT HURT YOU KNOW! I read it and Dilys was asking for a Berry. I thought she lost weight since she already convinced a million Adventurers to get her Berries... WHAT IF SHE'S USING THEM TO DRUG HER POTIONS SO SHE COULD TAKE OVER THE WORLD?!

Ahh... I'm never buying potions from Dilys again... You never know what chemical properties those Berries have after they've been processed. I have to admit though. They're small, and sweet... and they taste good... (a small Berry juice stain)

I strapped my Lute to my back and started hitting a nearby bush. That was when someone walked up and started staring at me as I was whacking the bush with my Bastard Sword. I wouldn't have kept it equipped, but there wasn't any more room in my bag and I was using my equipment straps to hold my Lute up.

The guy just watched me... It was creepy. Then he asked me "What are you doing?".

Of course, I explained to him what I was doing... He just looked at me like I was insane and said "Oh. I see.". Judging by his clothes he seemed new to traveling. He didn't have any armor that stood out... It was just a shirt and some pants. Really flimsy stuff, but what could I say? I'm wearing a Hunter's Suit made of thin leather. Still. Leather IS stronger than normal fabric.

We started chatting as I was hitting the bush and completed Dilys request (another Enchant Scroll that I burned, ha ha. It's like Free training!). It was quite enjoyable. Then he asked if I could help him out on things. I told him that was fine and introduced himself as Saranghe. So we went around town, finishing the requests of the villagers. It was really nostalgic since I've done the same requests before.

We parted ways in the middle of the day since he had to go and run the Dungeon from Trefor and Malcom on his own. But we sent little mental messages to each other to record his progress...

He had a little trouble with Malcom's Dungeon and had to come back to town for another pass but other than that, he did pretty well. I told him about the Magic School since his build seemed almost perfect for a magician... I was even nice enough to pay for one of his classes. Aren't I the greatest?

ENTRY 2

I fell flat asleep in the Square playing my beat up Lute in the dead of night (everyone was asleep but me)...If I could be happy when I was asleep, I was certainly happy deep in my mind when Saranghe woke me up. Geez... I feel sick sleeping on such VILE ground... I have to admit, poking someone with Eiry the Sword is effective (despite her complaints)... and I was chewing on my Lute's neck while I was asleep too. You got to be happy about waking up after that. Poor Lute. It has my bite marks all over it.

Did you know the stone in the Square is cold... and dirty!?! Eww!! I have vivid memories of people bleeding and spitting on it! And hurling bad food on it! Eww!! EWW EWW EWW!! EWWW!! GROSS!! IT GIVES YOU SUCH AN ICKY FEELING WHEN YOU THINK OF THAT!! UGH!! (insert crying doodle) SO DISGUSTING!

We went off and started the day with a couple of Alby Dungeon runs. Then we moved to Ciar Beginner after stocking up on passes (Thanks, Ranald!). It was a cool learning Experience. Even though I've been traveling for awhile, I was still not as adept in combat as most people were. Actually, I don't constitute getting hit till all Erg is almost completely drained as even CLOSE to adept.

I feel like a failure...

Saranghe actually told me that we've been in the Ciar Dungeons for a few days since, at nighttime, you feel this surge of Mana from Eweca, which is the source of all mana. So when Eweca sinks below the horizon, magicians have to Meditate to keep their mana up and endure 12 hours of weakened Mana regeneration. It keeps them from recovering their stamina Meditating. Saranghe told me that a wand helps you collect mana so you're able to more then just slouch and trudge around...

I think the dungeon air was energizing us, despite being really cold. Or maybe it's the drugs Dily's puts in her potions! Ahh! Wait... Scratch that. I haven't bought any of her potions in recent days... Then again. I haven't eaten any REAL food either. I'm literally starving myself. And people wonder how I ended up so thin. Some baked potatoes sound really nice right about now.

By the time we had gotten out though, the air outside seemed to make me sleepy... And starving didn't really help. I might as well give up hoping for food, considering how poor I am and keep whacking bushes for measly berries. They aren't the best but at least I get to eat SOMETHING.

I really kind of wanted to sleep then and there on the grass but I managed to drag myself to the Inn. Talk about tiring day... days... Whatever... I'll get to sleep when I'm done with my reports on the dungeon monsters.

I still have to write up a bit more on Small Golems. They're starting to become more predictable... Heh. Hearing myself say that out loud makes me think I'm getting better at this... Maybe I will make a good adventurer someday.

This would go good in the general discussion section, but a mod will move it to its appropriate place.

I've placed it in Entertainment, unless you feel it is better somewhere else.

No, no. It's fine =D I don't really care where you all move it. Mods an admins know best. Not me...

If anyone cares, I'll finish this... >> It's really slow at the beginning... Actually. The entire story is slow...
