Default I have a connection problem, and I will resolve it. (Caution: Independant thought.)

Before I go over this, I'm going to tell you now. This is not the thread to express your hate for Macintosh. If you have nothing supportive to say, then go make an "I <3 Windows" thread and get lost.

Now then, right now I am in a little bind. I have Windows on my....Mac....and it runs Mabinogi like a god send. That's right Mac is doing something useful. However the Bootcamp program that I use to put Windows XP in the Mac is disconnecting my wireless from time to time, thus destroying my chances to solo a number of dungeons, one of these being the Siren dungeon.

So I'm going to tackle this problem. I'm going to simply get a wired connection going with a cable that goes through my room, the hallway, another room, a closet, and to the room with the D-Link set up. That should be about 30 to 40 feet. I have the cash, and the cable running through the house shouldn't be too unsightly, nor would I even care about it.

Now you see how persistent I am. I am not going to let a difference in the computer company to cast me away from the game that I love to play. Now my other options are to use one of the other comps in the house, but one PC is horrible with graphics and basically kills in the Tir market, and the other PC, although it would run the game extremely well, is to be untouched because it's my brother's personal preference to keep my games off of it, and as a true brother I must respect his decision.

So I'm going to go wired until Apple or Microsoft start working together and fixing Bootcamp to where wireless is accessible. Knowing the childish rivalries, it will take some time...

And let's be clear that I love PCs, I love Macs, and I love how they make our lives easier. To me, PCs and Macs (at certain levels) are both equal and both reliable, and nothing will change that perspective of mine.

As an intelligent gamer, I thank you for respecting my beliefs.

Well, another possible solution would be to get a small external hard drive and put Mabinogi on that along with a defrag program so that you wouldn't put the game on your brother's computer and you could run the defrag program when you are done leaving it better than when you started. If the computer has firewire capabilities, that would make this possibilty much better sonce using a firewire connection would bump the access speed high enough it should act like a built in drive as far as speed goes.

Hmm...interesting idea. I can give that a shot I think. You seem to know your stuff better than Bill Gates EVER would. I'll run it by my brother. Thanks a ton, and also thanks for your patience with me. As creative as I am, I'm ambiguous to computers half the time.
