Moving to a new server, ads free subscription

Hello fellow Guruers,

As you may or may not

have noticed, the site has been having difficulties staying up as of late. This is due to some very serious database issues which has not been resolved even after requesting over a dozen technical supports.

I have finally given up on fixing this broken machine and decided to move us to a new server. The new place will be an upgrade over this current server and hopefully resolve any site downtime issues once and for all!

Getting a decent dedicated machine is quite pricey and I would like to open up an option for the members to opt-in to support the site. In return, they will view a completely ads free version of the forums like in the screenshot below.

To subscribe, simply go to your User CP and click on the paid subscription link near bottom left.

I have set the opt-in at monthly subscription of $2, please let me know if you have any questions, concerns, or suggestions.

Hope ppl get paid subscription to help out, if i could i really would since these forums are like my mabi-home :3.
Too bad i don't have a credit card, 6 pesos a month wouldnt be much x.x

Great idea, Itchy. Although I did remember reading about a thread in the tip box about donators not having to see the ads.

In my opinion, having a better server isnt worth seeing advertisements above and on the first post of EVERY SINGLE THREAD.

Its actually ridiculous if you ask me.

edit: And now ads in threads magically just disappeared? lolwut? .___.

Well he needs to make money to keep the site self sufficient, so the ads are someone a needy feature.

Be glad that he decided to charge guru gold instead of real money like earlier

It also gives a purposeful meaning to guru gold, since lottos and sales events seem to be pretty rare.

Didn't realize the thread was made that long ago lol. Thought this was recently because I started seeing ads inside forum posts. :/

I'll be saving my guru gold for those pretty rare occasions to score me some cool stuff. :3

I can deal with ads just fine but when they get in the way of the site's activities it just bugs me~.

You shouldn't be seeing ads inside posts if you're logged in.

It's not a matter of fast or not, the site had huge downtime on the old server everyday.

Apparently that's what everyone doing with their guru gold, so far none has bought the ads free subscription lol...
