From what I can tell, it looks like their DNS servers are falling apart. (EDIT: Actually, looking at
the status monitor it looks like the server (MabiGuru is on Olga) is just being raped...) You (ie, the person reading this) can fix it temporarily by adding the following line to your hosts file -
Code:
64.22.82.198 www.mabiguru.com mabiguru.com
If you don't know what the hosts file is, I can't recommend changing it. Also, you'll need to remove the line once it stops working (ie, Itchy changes hosts), but for the most part, it's been getting the job done for me (fixes the DNS issue, not the database errors).
Also, Itchy, if you haven't already selected a new host, I figure I'll throw in a recommendation for
DreamHost -- they're doing a special right now -- for $110/year (discounts available for longer terms) they'll give you 500GB of disk space and 5TB/month bandwidth (in addition to SSH access, unlimited MySQL databases, basically everything you need, etc).
I've had a couple issues in the past with their filers breaking on me, but I suspect it was because I was being a bit naughty on their machines. Other than that, it's been pretty supurb service overall.
EDIT: lol I just saw
this. Server rapeage is because they're rebuilding a RAID array. What a nightmare :P
