Things to think about for Guilds - Page 2

To add to that, guilds that have no guild events or try to create getogethers are really boring too. I've joined a guild in the past and it was hard getting to know other members because whenever I tried to spike up a conversation, I'd get short-answer replies then guild chat goes dead. Even if 10+ people are online, no one talks...at all. ><;

That's a problem with non-friendly people.

Friendly people will usually talk.

as a leader of a guild thats been around for over a year....

some of this stuff is very true and i have personally experienced all :x many headaches and hurt feelings.....

im gonna use this and compare to my guild :x

I. The LEADER is a power hungry ego-maniac:
8D not me but i am lazy...*cough* and i can be unfair is some special situation....o.o

II. Too many of your MEMBERS are whiny lazy brats:
i did notice that when we did have whiny members or ones that spammed nonsense i would get notes/pm for their removal.. sometimes this goes in the unfair category thats up in #1

III. You let a troublemaker into the guild:
:x.... sometimes slips in.. lols...sometimes very nice at first then boom they explode and dango body parts are everywhere :x
and then the rumors begins.. started by thems :x which is very sads and streesing

IV. A FIGHT starts, that snowballs out of control:
i know these very wells...usually we try to solves problems but then one goes and leaves guild on their own so to me that means they dont want to solves the problem and i lose interest in thems...cause if you really wanted to fix something you would calm down and do it :3 and not leave guild/explode at guild

Losing one or two prominent members over a trifle gone unchecked can set off a terminal chain reaction of "X left because Y left because Z left".
Dango Meltdown Nov 08 :x very sad day indeed even though i try not to think differently of those that left on that one same day... deep down i do cause i was hurt by them a lot but anyhows past is past o3o

after the "meltdown" we began having weekly meetings things are better now
yet we occasionally have some explosions but some are patched ups :x

V. You FAILED to recruit any new members:
this can be double edge sword :x
too many new ones is bad for the guildys already in guild because it takes some time for everyone to get to know each other and can cause them to be uncomfy
for my guild i dont let in strangers anymore, i dont actively recruit either so dont expect me to invite u o.o
my members picks who they want to join like their friends, siblings etc ....people who they are comfortable with

VI. Disloyal "guild-hoppers", backstabbers, and "Quit-a-thons":
i dont like guild hoppers or people who leave on their own for very dumb reasons but exceptions are made if my guildys really love you

IX. "Net-Mosquitoes" harassing and wasting too much time:
we got lots i ignore thems but sometimes they can still get to my guildys... and sometimes accidents happen :x

over all i think i do a good job?
right now i work full time and see my guild at very early murning hrs and maybe 1 or 2 hrs when i get home i feel like... a very bad parent D8 that ditches kids at nanny and goes poof :x but i still <3 my little Dangos

Perhaps you should consider appointing a new leader (most reasonable would be your Officer) until you think you can play for more hours

Very nice guide

I used to dream of having a good guild, but i finally said eff it and joined a dramaless epic family guild that i <3 and have some very epic friends with. Small guilds ftw!

The guilds I join always fall a part for that reason...

Hmm.. Surreal/Epoch had a member that was whiney and acting all depressed and wanted us to pity her.. What would that be called? Pitier? o.O

But Surreal is so much fun

Uhm, what if you have a good reason for being a guild hopper? I used to be one. I joined:
Xcutioners > Chewiebakas > Loyal > Epoch > Surreal
(Epoch and Surreal are the same)
D: Xcutioners died, Chewiebakas' chat was dead, Loyal had a net mosquito and a troublemaker or 2.
Then I found Epoch/Surreal.

Obviously, that's guild-hopping for a good reason. It wouldn't be a bad thing if you had a good reason.

Unless, of course, you did it 100 times like the obnoxious guild-hoppers Paladin was referring to =P

Good guide. My leader is on for about the same time as anne, too many IRL crisis's for him. Sooo im leading the largest guild in mari, thats been up for about a year.

They should give guild officers a kick option, too many noobs (not newb, noob) in the guild and my leader gives them chances i already gave them, so we have some noobs.
