I've been slightly wanting to set up a sort of blog site for mabi.
Users would be able to make an account, be able to make their own templates, or pick from a pre made one. and post random things about mabi.
Let's say you did a huge siren solo run and got something awesome from it. screen shots rock, post them. let everyone else know what you did.
I wanted to make it in a similar fashion as : RO Diary.com which I'm sure if you spend enough time looking at other people's junk, you'll get the gists of what I'm planning on doing.
There's a few hitch in my plans atm. such as my SQL linkup to HTML code skills are worse than me trying to play Halo3 on a laptop made 8 years ago. as well as hosting sites (not that big of a problem.) and the main problem.
User base.
You see, I don't want to set out and spent a good amount of time looking up a host, getting help with my SQL database. and finally finishing up the site. only to have a total of eight players post on it. ever.
So let's get this out of the way, I want you. mabiguru. To please tell me, either in the poll right here, or in a post. your thoughts on this, your ideas, and your doubts about this project.
If I get enough positive feedback. I'll start on it. once I get it up a running (I've got two jobs and one of them requires me to be on call 24/7, so it might be a while) I'll give links to it on mabiguru. and you guys will be the first. I'll tell you how you can spread it around if we ever get to that point.
Back when I played MapleStory, I used to hang around MMOtales a lot, because it was a lot of fun blogging with a small community who were all based around the one game.
A Mabi-based blog site would be fun as hell. I really hope you decide to make it. (:
I'm not certain whether you're wanting to create a single blog for the guru community, or a home site in which members can individually create their own. In case it's the first, here are my thoughts:
A blog to chronicle your Mabinogi adventures is certainly a fun and creative idea, but setting one up for all of the guru community might get tricky. Imagine if everybody is able to access the blog and post about their day...that might become overwhelming and disorganized. If a large number of people post on one single blog, certain people's entries are bound to be skipped over too, which would be unfair for all the effort they've put into it in hopes of sharing it with others. If you're still keen on the idea of creating a blog representing group of people sharing their adventures, scaling down the number of people who can access it may help keep things from becoming comfusing (such as a guild blog). Lastly, there's always the possibility of just creating a blog for yourself, and linking to it so your friends can read about your travels. Several people including myself, Euna, Life, Valix, and Saffie have gone with that alternative.
Those are just suggestions from my perspective. In no way am I trying to refute your idea, so please do not view this as an initiation to any debate. I'm just throwing in my opinion relating to the topic.

The first idea I'll admit crossed my mind, however. like you said. it'll quickly turn into a mess.
So It's the second one you said. Each user will sign up. make their own username/password/blog and there, be able to edit and make their own templates. upload avatars and some other ideas im juggling with.
The main page will be a place where you can;
See the newest blog posts that users have made, if they chose to make them public.
edit their information.
Get a member directory so they can find people quickly
read about the sites updates.
exc exc. D:
It's 1am. leave me alone about the horrible job <_<'

Ahh ok, now I see why you used RO Diary's homepage as a model template. Well, if you're able to create a Mabi version of RO Diary, that would be pretty cool, especially since Mabinogi has such a huge community. Best of luck!

Reason: 1 am typos -_-
I will assist you in any way you want (except sexually). Because I really like the idea of there being a blog specifically for Mabi where we can post our ridiculous screenshots.
