monster CP tool poll
I'm working on the tool that helps you find what monster you can train skills on based on their CP level, such as strong, awful, boss ...
There's a few ways of displaying this data, so i want a community opinion on which way they think would be most useful to them.
method 1:
Show all monsters in the range you are looking for, example: show all monsters that are "strong" to you.
method 2:
Show the couple of monster with lowest CP that fit into the range you want, example: show about 5 monsters that are "strong" to you.
method 3:
List all monsters in the database and show what you see them as from weakest to boss.
Also, if you can come up with a cool name for this calculator that helps identify what it does... that would help xD Best i can come up with is "Monster CP Tool".

I would say that Method 1 would be the best way to list monsters relative to your CP. That way, you can look only at the monsters that you are looking for, instead of having to scan through a list to find the right ones.
As compared to Method 2, Method 1 would be better than it so that it gives the person a larger variety of monsters that they can choose to hunt. While having a smaller list can be helpful, just knowing everything that you can hunt will be more useful.
And I really can't help with the name. It's practical as it is now, so I don't think it needs modification.

I prefer Method 3. It would be similar to Method 1, but instead of having to change what kind of mob you're looking for each time, everything's already done.
It'd also be easier to figure out which mobs will soon drop a powerlevel (e.g. if zombies are about to become awful,) because you can use their relative placement within their individual power levels (if zombies were at the very bottom of the boss list, right above an awful, you would know zombies would be awful soon.)

What would you think of #3 if it were color coded?
I'm thinking a color coded #3 would be easy to find what you want, and at the same time compare the difference in CP that's determining why one monster is strong while another is something else, so you might get a better idea of what you can change to fix that, if say you can get a more convenient monster to train on by deranking 1 skill.
edit: also what Miz said.

Well, since you put it that way Chise, Method 3 would actually be a better method than Method 1. I never took using de-ranking into mind since I don't use them, for multiple reasons. But yea, Method 3 does seem to be a better choice now. Too bad that I already voted, thus throwing off the poll.

meh screw the poll. It's been replaced by logic o.o
Got the monster database done as per Kotei's list, and the formula is scripted up and tested -> working.
Should be done tomorrow unless i forget about it.

Method 3 in weakest to boss order (or reverse) much be the better part?
It is almost like Method 1 but you get to see everything?
Method 2 is too restrictive. =/

Method 3 would be good as long as the levels are differentiable. It would be nice if there was an option to sort and filter the data like "list all bosses in descending order of combat power" or "list all strong monsters by name in ascending order."

This tool will include a calculator to find your own CP, right?
