Apparently, I need to eat a boiled food in order for my cooking rank to go up. Does anyone know where I can buy one?

Usually every server has at least one player made "restaurant" in which they sell the foods they cook. You can ask them to make you some.

If you're in Mari you can try asking Aokouu (his "Restaurant" is usually in Dunbarton Square channel 4)
Ruairi you can try asking Tofucakee

Just find and ask one of the chefs Paladin mentioned above (since it depends on your server of course), or note them when you can. That's probably the best way to find boiled foods when you can't cook them yet.

Boiled egg/potato are the easiest boiled foods to make that you can spam-feed yourself with. Just need a cooking pot (and dipper), which you can get for free from the "hunt 1 Ogre" quest.

You need Rank E before you can boil food and one of Rank F's requirement tells you to eat a boiled dish.

equip a Friend title and talk to the Church NPC in Tir and she'll give you a Boild Egg lulz
