it's not possible to be 52 o.o
if you start your character at age 10 at open beta
because the cat didn't get his old title yet
(the cat is waiting for that day to rebirth..... and give kitae lots of exp, which kitae owes the cat in return)

As was already said, equips really don't matter. Don't worry about how much your armor costs...in fact, aside from keeping it repaired I wouldn't even think about your armor for now. Just focus on ranking your focus skills and learning the basics of combat. You'll pick up the basics pretty quick...it's the fine-tuning that takes time to learn. Don't worry too much about dying either. Aside from losing your blessings, death in Mabi is pretty painless as long as someone is around to raise you. Even if they're not the worst that can happen is you have to get a piece of equipment back from Duncan - the cost being proportionate to the value of your equipment---thus cheap armor is good right now.

I'm not that interested in armour, but understanding the stats and meaning of them will take time to understand.

The thing I'm having trouble with is leveling. When I'm in a group, I don't want to just sit there and watch them kill. It makes me feel like I'm leaching. I don't know how to use my stats properly, and I'm not sure what skills need to be what level. Should I just stop leveling mage skills and life skills for now, and level some combat skills? What combat skills should I level up and to what level?

I can't believe that people are level 300. That seems impossible. I can't even do the quest for killing black dire wolves, because I suck so bad. My other quest is like getting to level 20, then I'm not sure what I do after that.

If you already have some bolts at B and want to keep training on the mage path, you should have decent power for fighting in a party in some of the easier dungeons. As far as skills to work on in the future, I'd learn Magic Mastery, Windmill (for countering - really need to get it ultimately to rank 9 for decreased load time), continue working on bolt spells (pick one at first to rank up as high as possible...then you can work on another late if you want), and learn the music composition and music theory skills for their intelligence bonuses. They both give +5 Int per rank, but music theory is a lot cheaper AP-wise.

Like I said, I'm also on Mari...add me and give me a shout when you see me on, and I'll help you with combat. IGN - Keiyan

(Weird, I thought I posted something in here before.)

The problem with groups is that unless the group is coordinated with a specific strategy, each person should fight a monster one-on-one. (Groups tend to be less coordinated when they're too large.) Also, monsters are less predictable with people around; if you're alone, you'd expect monsters to act a certain way all the time due to the simplicity of the AI.

That and the exp gain is divided. Ciar goblins only give ~100 exp each, which isn't all that much. (Pirate skeletons in Rundal give ~600 exp each.)

I exclusively did Ciar for around 3 months and thought that I wasn't skilled enough to do any of the harder dungeons. What personally helped me was running a dungeon as a pet. I started off as a level 1 fox in Rabbie and went off from there. At low levels and with a high exp rate, I wasn't afraid to die a ridiculous amount of times. Eventually, I learned how monsters moved (the hard way). Since then, I die less often and do other dungeons other than Ciar.

A lot of people are still a lot better than me in combat, but I'm satisfied enough with my current level of ability.

Bleh...I don't think you have to be a pro to be above level total 500, just rebirth every three weeks and spam dungeon runs. Don't get me wrong, *I'm* no pro, but I have played with people in my level range (150s) that I would consider pro and I've played with people in the 300-400 range that were much worse, playing skill-wise.

No matter how much I like Mabi, I refuse to pay $26 a month to Nexon to carry the full service package and rebirth every 3 weeks--not to mention additional money for pets and what-not. In fact, part of what I like about it is I can stop playing for a month and not have to pay a subscription.

Well as a reference... the money i make lately comes from rabbie basic runs (solo) grinding fomor scrolls for gold and the skellies for Exp.

Good equips for me are good enchants (like stiff) and kite shield/wand/gladius(upgraded) with a good heavy armor set (which took me a number of runs of Rabbie basic solo and constantly voiding my inv into the personal shop)

Level... im around 150 atm. im that "bolt magic" type of person (went for r9 firebolt and r1 ice... rC counter for better SP usage) currently ranking critical hit for better crit damage. Eventually imma start ranking the High end magic spells (thunder esp for mana bonus)... maybe windmill too just cause it seems to be fairly necessary for all things.

Magic is my focus mainly cause i enjoyed chaincasting so much... talk about the killer skill when its all said and done!
