Default Not Keeping Up

I think I did a thread about this along time ago, but things change over time.

I'm not keeping up with Mabinogi at all, but I want to be x_x. I subscribed first day of closed beta, then first day of open beta, and then first day or official opening.

I logged on today after not playing for 3 months. I don't even know what my age is. It says "27 years over 25". Does that mean I'm like 52 O_O. I'm getting old :l.

I probably only played for about a week after official came out. I'm like level 15 or something, and my equips are like a robe, the sword I started off with, random sandals and gloves, and a bow and stuff. I have like nothing.

I don't know how to level up quick, how to get good money fast, or how to get good equips. I also don't know what equips I should be equipting, or what I should do to build my class better.

I really want to be a mage. All my combat levels are just learned, so they are at Rank F. I don't think I should level them if I'm going to be mage. I'm not sure.

What level are you guys? What's your age? Where are you on Mabinogi? Have you done any rebirths? How many tags do you have. I want to know how far people are a head of me.

Who is the highest level person you seen?

I need help, BADLY.

Umm, fomor scrolls are your best friends for money.
You should learn the basics of bolt counter, which should save you the trouble of almost every standard dungeon.

"good equips" are just anything you can wear really. Try to get a Kite shield for defense.

I would actually suggest doing windmill before anything, but if you're REALLY all out on that mage thing, you can go ahead and start ranking bolts.

Most people are young because they're all spoiled children who have too much money. They rebirth like once every three weeks and some even whine about how they can't wait three weeks.

Highest level? I'd say lots of people are already over level 300, which is just crazy.

Wow, this is a blast from the past. Who have you been?

Well anyway, you shouldn't worry that much about how far ahead everybody is compared to you. Mabi is one of those games that you can leave behind and still be able to keep up with the higher levels, if you know what you're doing. I know the pain of not being able to play for an extended amount of time, but once you get the hang of the game again, then the amount of levels between you and high levels will mean almost absolutely nothing.

And I know what you mean by getting old. Since I missed about 4-5 months, I gotten up there in the ages. So when it says "27 years over 25", it just means that it's been 27 weeks since you last (re)birthed, and the first number (27) gets added to your starting age. So if you started at 10, then you would be 37 years old in game. I wish it was 52, then I would just do everything in my power to level to 30 so I can get my first rebirth.

Since you are level 15 or so, I would suggest spamming Ciar Beginner, then leaving before the Boss room if you don't know how to beat a golem by yourself. You would be missing out on about 1k from the end chest, an enchant scroll, and usually a potion (HP, MP, or SP 50 pot). Though once you get to twenty, I would recommend trying to fight the Golem. There is a guide here that can help you fight it. Equips don't really matter in this game. The real only difference between wearing clothes and a suit of armor is usually a reduction of about 4 points of damage, and the ability to equip accessories.

Skills wise, I highly recommend getting Windmill to at least R9 for the reduced casting time. While you want to be a mage, WM is one of, if not, the most useful combat skill in the game. Raising it up to R5 will increase your range, and if you get it up to R1, then you will increase your range even further. For your magic skills, I'd say rank up Firebolt and Lightningbolt. Firebolt, being the magic knockdown move, gets stronger and does more damage with more charges and more ranks. Lightningbolt is awesome in that once you get to a rank (either R9 or R6, not sure) you get a reduced cast time. Once that happens, combined with the long stun time that LB causes, you can charge 1 LB, fire it at the enemy, charge it, then fire it again before the enemy gets back to his/her senses. Getting one of the advanced spells will be useful, but shouldn't be meant as your main attack, unless you can get a gajillion MP pots and then chug them down in between casts.

So yeah, I would help you out, since I only got to level 26 today, if you were in Ruairi, but since I think you are in Mari, I would recommend searching out one of the members of Reminisce since they sorta are the Mari Guild of Mabiguru.

Lightningbolt gets the reduced casting time at R5.

I would advise before you get your magic to that high of a level, though, get WM (like they said!) and try to get your magic mastery/mana prettyhigh up there. Once you hit the higher ranked bolts it starts taking a LOT of MP to manage them, and getting the bolt to a usable level (and using magic counter/wm or what-have-you often) will save you a lot of mana pots/time/effort/rage in the long run.

Ciar Beginner is for grinding sure, but not for learning.
Everything dies in one combo of Eiry, you learn nothing.

Rabbie, even if you must learn the hard way!

Well, even mages need some combat skills...i.e Windmill...Windmill is a must-have skill, but besides that, ranking up bolts seems like a good idea. When you complete dungeons, you can get enchant scrolls. Most of the scrolls from Ciar Beginner give MP (i.e. Fountain, Water prefixes), which will be handy later...

Equips wise, your fine. Mabinogi relies on skill more than anything else...You can have hella pro equips, but still die in a nooby dungeon because you FAIL at controlling your character.

I've never seen a high level person, only people with good armor. Hell, with all these rebirths, you can't really judge someone by their level (you can't tell either).

Currently, I am 16 on my main, I use the "Lucky Girl" title, I'm in Tir all the time for Ciar, and I haven't rebirthed on this character yet.

GOOD LUCK!

and kitaek is right..fomors = easy money.

When you have 10 of a fomor scroll, go to Duncan in Tir, and buy the fomor quest and turn it in for easy $$$$

Well now I'm re-thinking picking mage, but I have some bolts already up to Rank B. Did I ruin my character? .

What's the best class to pick? Paladin? Warrior? Idk.

No, you didn't ruin your character. It will be a little harder to train WM, but you should still be able to get to R9 easily. And there really isn't a "best" class. The best class is one that you find easy to use.

I have absolutely no idea what I'm going.

I went to Ciar at got in a group of like 6 and went in and I basically died 3 times, and no one else did. My problem is that I don't know how to use what I have. I seriously don't think I'll get a hand of this.

People were like talking about having 700k armour, and I only have 7k. How sad :l.
