Default Organizing food information

I'm in the process of gathering up information on food effects and recipes, as well as icon pictures for each food in game. However, I have a few questions.

I notice there is a Catagory:Food set up. Should each individual food have it's own page? As a forewarning, there are 35+ foods just in mixing. I have no problem working on individual pages but there will be a lot. Not to mention that most ingredients can be eaten by themselves and also have stats.

If we are going with individual pages for each food item I'll go ahead and create a style guideline for the page set up since a table for a food will contain much different information than the general item table I've seen.

My original plan was to set up a page for each different method of cooking (mixing, baking etc) with a master list of sorts, all food item tables organized on their respective method page. If we're doing individual pages, I could create a page for each method that's basically a links page to each individual food. This however, has the flaw of separate pages that need to be updated each time a new food is added. Would a subcategory for each method work? Then, for example "Cheese Bread" would be Category: Food, Category:Mixing"

I think it's important to organize the foods by ease of both users. People wanting to eat food need a way to search for specific items, or even specific stats (that's a whole other organization I'll get into eventually) but cooks also need a way to look them up by method.

I think having an article for each food is ideal. The way I figured it, each food article would contain all the food information, the recipe information about how to make it, and links to other foods which can be made with it (so if you had an item and wanted to use it, you could figure out what it was used for).

Sub-Categories for each cooking method is probably the best way to go. On each of the method's category pages we could put details about how to cook with that method, what items are needed, etc.

I think the food category should be disjoint from the recipe category however. One possible structure might look like this:

- Food
--- (list of all food items)
- Recipes
--- (list of all foods which have recipes)
--- Mixing
----- (list of all foods made from mixing)
--- Baking
(etc).

Such that every food article which can be cooked with a certain method goes into three categories: Category:Food, Category:Recipes and the category for the corresponding cooking method.

The argument for having a master Category:Recipes containing all of the recipe is arguably kind of weak. If a user wanted to know how to cook a certain food and didn't know the method, they could look up the food in Category:Food. The difference between Category:Recipes and Category:Food is that Category:Recipes contains only the foods which can be prepared through cooking, so if you wanted to browse only the cookable food articles, that category would serve as a convient index.

I think the trick is figuring out a way to organize foods by the stats they give, since each food can give at least 3 different stat bonuses (based on how well it was prepared) D:

I've got a decent amount of information gathered by I lack the knowledge of wikia code to create a nice looking table. If someone could create a template of a food stat table I'd be much obliged and can start transferring all my notes over.

I'm not sure what you mean by "food stat table".

Also, templates aren't required for tables. I'd recommend reading Help:Table and Help:Template for information regarding those topics.

If need be, just mark it up with HTML (or, hell, just space out the columns by hand) and someone else will convert it over for you (making a template if necessary, just using tables if not).
