Default Battle to contain oil spill in the Gulf

Battle to contain oil spill may linger into fall - Disaster in the Gulf- msnbc.com

Where are all the "Save the Gulf" concerts? Where are the TV benefits with
celebrities and musicians giving heart felt speeches on the poor
fishermen, wildlife, beaches, loss of income and sabotaged Gulf
economy? I find it rather strange how these people (including our own government) are so quick to help Haiti and other countries, but
sit on their tails for this one. Just the facts.

Because... British Petroleum is rich enough to pay for it.

So our environment doesn't matter as long as we can import it from other places cheaper. -rolls eyes-

Our environment doesn't matter because citizens cannot connect with pictures of sea water and some oil on top.
Hurricanes are different because we see human suffering that we can connect with.
The only way huge uproar will start (and uproar is kind of already happening, a tad) is if we are constantly shown pictures of dead/dying birds/oceanlife covered in oil.

The only problem with that is in their own ignorance, they'll think "Well whats a few fish or birds gunna do to our environment?"

They need hundreds, maybe thousands for it to click, and that bothers me.
>o< I feel like I'm a little attached to the topic, but not for the animals or the environments sake, but because of the stupidity of the human race.

The human race isn't really stupid, it's more... thick-headed.

If the media really wanted to do something, they would spam pictures of animals injured/dead like pro trollers.

Yes, I just blamed the media.
They did it in Vietnam and Hurricane Katrina, why not for this?

To tell you the truth, my look on this is. Many of us simple people are helping, but no one else seems to care. BP is trying, but so far they are utterly failing. The goverment, is just trying to clear it up, so no one will pay attention, and get back to the crisis of Terrorists.

Semi-Offtopic ~ But @Ayriea - I don't think terrorists even exist. I believe it's something the government concocted to keep us civilians in fear so they could keep controlling us.

Ontopic ~ BP.. probably is trying to cover it up. I wouldn't doubt that.

For years they went on about recycling and helping our ecosystem; not that it ever did much good to a good percentage of the common folk. However, the oil spill is just like littering, actually it is littering and should be dealt with. Instead of finding a fast solution, they look for the solution thats "more cost effective" when in the long run they're just throwing money out the window by doing nothing. Asking people for help proves they obviously didn't think out all the possibilites of occurances that could happen.

BP isnt trying at all xD
If they really wanted to fix this they should have used their cash that they have piled up to fix the mess they made.

And there is no crisis of Terrorists lol. We're in a "war" for the same thing that's causing this disaster in the gulf. Oil..not terrorists.
