I don't know too much about it, but apparently this will be the first full attempted test to make the first man made black hole. Small but.. still...

If you look at the comments on the second link you could guess everyone (Yes the silly little people) is thinking the world is going to end. Cool.. Right?

And for those who need some kind of mental reference, think Half Life.

I've been upsetting about this since like 2 years ago, but no one listened to me back then.
Responses went as the following:

"Why would anyone make something that could destroy us all?"
"Lol, kitae you're such a freaking moron, you're telling me to believe they have a large assed underground machine big enough to be a small town? You're watching too much anime".
"Dude, thats just retarded".
"No one can make a doomsday device, its not possible with our current technology".
"Kitae, black holes and the big bang doesn't exist. God created the world".

and the list goes on.

They've actuallyed delayed the project by quite a bit. It should've launched May this year.

If the events of Half Life repeat, where portals to aliens open up in random parts of the planet including in our own homes, we're all screwed.

But I'm thinking if anything, it'd be just a recontruction of the protons in the table of elements, practically destroying the whole universe and recreating it.

I even talked about it on the forums, which went completely ignored.

I hear its not too painful.
I mean, yeah its painful. Your very being is being stretched into an extreme gravitational pull. That is, considered if a black hole is the result.

But your death will be so instantaneous, you won't have a chance to feel how excruciatingly painful it is.

Also, to answer a common myth on black holes, there is nothing on the other side. Its just a large concentration of mass that is so powerful that it makes a gravitation pull even light cannot escape. Thats all it is.

So glad to know they're not going with the cliche' of testing it/using it in 2012...

Why exactly did they even make this?

EDIT: Regarding the "concentration of mass that makes a gravitation pull," does it have a certain radius? Or does it "suck" in everything almost instantaneously?

IF it doesn't blow up the world, we'd be collecting so much information that we're learning at a rate that is exponentially faster O_O

It'd also prove/disprove a lot of theories out there.

Actually, the chances of the world being destroyed are so low that they say its okay. I would hope it is.

Even if heaven exist, our memories are stored in the molecules within our Cerebrum, so when we die, we won't remember anything in heaven.

Well, its just a gravitational pull thats really really strong. Kinda like the sun. So yeah, it has its limits.
