I made this thread not only to debut my personal score library on the forums, but to give everyone on the forums a chance to request songs to be added to my library. I'll update the thread every other day.

I really hope some of you can get the chance to rate my songs in this thread as well, I appreciate comments.

You have a good selection, and you have the rights to charge however much you wish from these particular scores. But I, myself, can't help but think that a full 1k isn't above price-gouging and basic extortion. I'm sorry if this offends, and I understand full and well the rights of an artist, but the fact that MML composition is so very easy to do, and that with a little practice, just about anyone can do it, I don't quite understand why your "low" price is so high. Again, I apologize for making such a big deal of this, and for imposing my own moral values here, but this is something that I stongly go against.

Everyone's entitled to their own opinion. I agree that some of these were easy to make; However, a number of them took days, others took hours. And even easy ones require a certain amount of skill, depending on the song. I use to give my scrolls out for 30g, but then the people that regularly buy from me asked me to charge them and everyone from now on, because my songs began to be overplayed ingame (everyone was starting to have them).

To those that might be unfamiliar to the process, and who wonder about composing- otherwise don't read on-

-Midis work by playing a number of "tracks", usually categorized by instrument. Now some songs might consist of 10 or more tracks. Most use about 5-6.
-Mabinogi can only have 3 "tracks" and 2 of them are severely restricted in note number.

-Midis use chords in their tracks.
-Mabinogi can't have chords in it's tracks, they have to use the tracks simultaneously in order to create a chord. The midi converter for mabinogi will only pick one note of a chord, which will often make the note wrong.

How do you go about fixing these issues? Through editing the midi extensively.

To make sure you get the most bang out of your song, you have to place the most complicated parts (individual parts, not just tracks) of the song in the melody section, second most complicated in chord 1, and usually reserve chord 2 for chorded notes, in complicated songs, or basslines in less complicated.

So in many cases, you'll be facing a song with 6 tracks, playing 3 or more notes at a time in each track. so you have to do a LOT of editing in order to decide which of those tracks are needed (sometimes it's all of them), and out of those tracks, which of the 3 or more notes do you need the most.

I do everything I can to make my songs sound the best, and play the longest.

While I don't take offense, I think you shouldn't assume I finish my songs quickly.

I tottaly agree, Exandriel. Artists also eat and have the rent to pay, so free art may be funny and neat, but not for the one who focus and spends a lot of real lifetime into it.

Music should be free, and it is. Anyone can make and play. I charge for MY music, and MY services as an arranger.

Unfortunately, I'm not a buyer of pre-composed MML (although I'm a little interested in how your renditions of the Sonic 2 songs sound like).

Do you do commissions? If you can transcribe music by ear, shorten it enough to fit it in a certain rank, and still have it sound good, I may actually shell out some game money for the songs.

My character on Mari is not all that rich since I've been playing on Ruairi recently, so it's more a curiosity than an offer right now. But, I could switch over to Mari to start earning gold if you are really serious.

It's really dependant on the song. If you want me to crank a very instrumental, chord-filled song into a rank E scroll, It will either have to be greatly limited in length (only play the best parts of the song), or be made less spiffy for lengthening purposes. If the song I make is too short, I go through the MML to crunch numbers, sometimes altering the entire song. I enjoy a challenge though, and I'de do my best to get the job done :P.
