Default The Best Way to deal with Percussion-Based Music?

I mean... some tracks do fine because they basically have no percussion... but others, such as the Panzer Dragoon tracks I'm listening to right now, happen to be very percussive, and would lose a lot if that was completely neglected.

So is there anything that can be done about it?

I'm guessing no, at least until the drums come out. No idea what Generation or Season that is, or if they even will in NA.

Well.. Timpani can be converted into notes. But.. as for regular drums and snares, etc. There's pretty much nothing you can do.

The best you could do, I guess, for a very percussive song is to remix it in some fashion. For instance, if you have a part where the melody stops and only drums play, you'de have to make up your own stuff in the time that the drums would play :P.

My suggestion is to use the percussion rythmic cell wth the bass notes..

If the percussion is too much variated, you better split the rythms between the harmony notes...
