Question on Magic and Combat

I was thinking about mixing both. As having a Combat and Mage at the same time. My question is, is it really a good idea to try this out? I see most of my friends with Magic and they also use combat. I look at Screenies to check out what people put on their Skill list. I'm so confuse of what to get. I was thinking about Healing too since it would be useful for Dungeon runs as well. So should I get it? (Note: I mostly have Combat type attacks and 0 into anything into Magic)

Having both combat and magic is necessary for the firebolt/icebolt/lightningbolt counter strategy, and I know someone who self-dubbed himself a "fire warrior." Magic's good for luring and opening attacks..

Personally, I intend on mastering all 3 types of combat eventually with the help of rebirth. As for heal... I might get that, but I'd rely on potions more.

Actually man, Most (like 50% of all players) go a combo of magic and melee

Theres no shame in it, and its actually quite effective....

People would say though points are better invested in combat first then magic afterwards But it depends on taste...If you have a good feel for the combat and make few mistakes go for a little more magic.

Yup. Melee's best in the beginning because magic requires a fair amount of INT + AP to do good dmg, with melee oftentimes the weap alone can make a difference.
