Slaying an Orge...

So, now I've just got the Orge quest, and have to kill an orge. Have tried to solo it a couple of times, and I got owned by it each time x) So, the question is, how do I kill it? xD Anyone got any tactics for how to kill it? Should I get a party, or is it soloable?

Best way to solo it is to just use fire->counter. When it start waveing around then its doing its aoe, quickly cancel counter and hit it with smash.

Fire-counter is good against any monster you're doing 1v1 with, whether it's strong or weak. If you don't have Firebolt yet, I recommend you rank it up. Trust me: it's worth the three AP points that lets you solo just about anything.

I agree with fire counter. As for the aoe. I haven't found smash to work every time, and getting hit once usually kills me. You can avoid the aoe by walking away from the ogre as soon as you realize it's not rushing towards your counter (if you run it will still hit you).

Ugh, what do you guys actually mean with fire-counter? xD Charge up a fire bolt, fire, put counter on, and repeat? Didn't really work cause I can't charge up a new fire bolt before he attacks me D:

Then you're not loading fast enough.
When you have counter ready, the Ogre hits you. DURING that hit, you press firebolt, and you can start loading it as soon as you push him back.

If you did it right, you should have a firebolt charged by the time he's right in front of you again. Shoot it, and AS you shoot it, press Counter.

It should load by the time he gets to you. Repeat.

I'm trying an trying, but it still won't work. If i press the fire bolt button as the enemy tries to hit me, the fire bolt spell still won't load until a while after I've knocked it back.
I don't understand what I'm doing wrong >.<

Just use the skill bubble as an indicator. As soon as the symbol from counter is gone (the bubble can still be there as long as it's blank) you can hit the firebolt button.
