I've been wondering (and this may be a question that only KR server players can answer)

I know that eventually (somewhere down the long line) Nexon will probably be implementing the two races that are available on some of the other servers to the North American servers: Elves and Giants.

What I'm wondering is, with Rebirth - will players be able to rebirth a human into an Elf or a Giant?

I made my character with the intention of eventually rebirthing them into an Elf, but I'm not even sure that will be possible?

I don't think so, you will need ELF, GIANT, or HUMANS BASIC CARDS to create or rebirth in each of them

However! You can do a quest as a human, to get an elf card once they come out, and a giant card once they come out, for free.

I am not sure if you can get the giant one if you already got the elf one, or vice versa... I'm thinking you can't.


No matter what though, it's a new character. So all your skills and titles won't transfer. If you make it on the same account and you have extra storage service, you will have shared banks and so can transfer items and gold at least.

Actually Shivore you can, first you have to ally yourself with the elves then do the quest. Then you unally them and then ally with the giants then do the quest and get the card, once you ally with elves giants hate you, ally with giants elves hate you, when you ally with giants you can ride on their shoulders. Also impossible to rebirth to another race. Only pets can do that. Because since you keep your skills from human to elf, which means final hit and other things then bad. Only Jap mabi allows this because they needed a gimic to attract a greater amount of players because of a screw up which caused most of their players to leave.

Ah that's great Lan! Quick question... how many times can you betray like that? (I know, semi off-topic) Just once or any number of times? And yes I know the card is a one-time thing for each race.

I ask cause once elves come out I'll probably ally with them, rather than wait for giants. Then when giants come out I'll ally with them cause I want to make a giant character to fool around with, but on my human I don't yet know which I'll want to be allied with.

So it's possible I'll be wanting to go Elf to Giant and back to Elf, is that possible?

I think it's possible, but with a lengthy waiting period of real time between alliances. I remember reading that a long time ago.

Thanks for the replies, everyone.

I guess that leads me to another question: Names.

I named my character with an elf in mind ... (when I joined Mabinogi I hadn't realized that being an elf wasn't available, just figured it happened after creation)

So, I kinda want to hang onto the name -- but if I delete the character, will the name become available again for anyone? Or does it stay out of the system forever, even once there is no character with the same name?

Im sure noone knows this, but I'm just curious if anyone does.

I figure I could hang onto the name, and delete the human and quickly remake the elf if need be?

What you should do in that case is delete the character, but leave it on the deleted mode (after you waited for 7 AM next day), and do not fully delete it until elves are avilable. This way, no one can get the name, but once you're ready to use it, you click on delete, the character goes poof, and you can make your elf with that name.

You can transfer betweens factions as much as you like but there is a waiting period before you can join again. Also you can just remain neutral and be able to go to both towns and buy their gear :3
