A few changes: Need your opinions!

We're going to have a few changes in MabiGuru, and we'll be exchanging opinions here to see which fits the best.

Two things that will be considered for change: Titles by Post count, and Forum section names.

Itchy is planning on changing the names for these, and is in need of ideas.

Titles by post count:

My basic idea for this is to refer it to what you basically are when you play Mabinogi.

PartTime Worker
And so on..

The only reason I'm hesistant about putting up any more, or thinking about using some of these, is that a few players might complain, sayiing they don't consider doing combat at all.

Or if we just stated "master warrior" and "rookie warrior" and such, they might complain about being a mage (though warrior would refer to just... being a fighter in overall).

Edit: One more I thought of just now was a dungeon clearer's title. However... since people often debate about which dungeon is harder, that might be a bad choice as well. Maybe we can rate it on the difficulty changes on Fomor Passes. Newbie pass, Regular, Basic Fomor Pass, etc etc, until it gets to the highest difficult (though we still don't know what middle and higher will be called in NA version)

Forum Names:

So it seems the news has already been changed to "Erinn Times". Its a pretty nice new name if you ask me.

I think I want to change the "contest and events" to the name of the place on the moon (which was a place you could go as a spree of limitless items when moongates were first opened as an event). I'm not sure if they'll ever do this in NA server, nor do I know the name of the place, so I'll hold back on that one.

I'm not sure what to make of General Discussions.

Questions section might be like "School", or something like that... or maybe the guides section is better for a title like that?

The Orchestra should be "Performance Center", or whatever it is the stage in emain macha is called.

One thing I know for certain, is that Newbie Town should be called "Ego Forest". Its the name of the forest you appear in when you first enter erinn, full of raccoons and the Helmeted kid, Tin.

As you can see, I'm not too sure on what to name many of these. Most of these are just my opinions, which is why this thread is open. MabiGuru needs the ideas and help of all the staff members.

Please post whatever you think necessary.

Edit: Perhaps it would be best to get the regular members involved in this discussion as well? Move to General? It IS their forum too...

Titles based on monsters is how it goes on SW, they're "classic" monsters of MS though. Heh. You may create spammy users if you reward them so directly for posting.

Careful with section names, if you create ones that users identify with too much you may cause a schism.

Arguably, the gold system is probably incentive enough for the title-wanting post spammers.

Yeah, the gold is a much more direct award for posting, so it would be more of a problem in that sense, and no one seems to have a problem with that.

The changed forum names are alright too, as long as they aren't changed so drastically that it becomes tough for newer users to immediately figure out what they are at a glance. That's just me being picky though.

I think the posting-ranks would be great, but of course there will be spammers. Before changing the ranks, I think you should implement a warning system. That way, each time someone spams, warn them and they should stop at some point. If they don't, then ban them.

there is that already, for sure, but only mods,supermods,admins(etc) can see the warn level.
I think it comes with VBulletin so yeah, they probaly have it

Honestly, we have enough active mods to destroy just about any spammer in less than an hour of their appearance.

Theres really no worries. Besides, we're just changing newbie members, members, senior members, etc in a bit more mabinogi friendly setting.
