I don't exactly see Guru existing for the purpose of Itchy making a profit here.
Its his decision, but I'm thinking when free users begin to not have as much of an advantage they begin to feel left out, or even of a lower rank than a paying user.

Even if he/she wants to pay, they sometimes can't.

Donators are already given a silver name tag and a hidden forums section. This was at the niceness of Itchy. Asking for more is mean.

If things like ad blocking becomes a perk to being a donator, might as well change that "donator" name to "premium user" right now.

If you're complaning about ads, then you're not taking a couple seconds out of your own time to use firefox, or you're not using it to its full power. Go download an extension and nuke those ads.

Personaly i think no one should have to see any ads what-so-ever. if there are generous ppl donating to this forum every month and so on i feel you dont need any dang on ads.

its kinda distracting of the beauty of the forums as well as the one that show up on the bottom are pornographic in nature and we have minors who frequent this site. I thought this site was for gamers of all ages to enjoy and have fun in the communiyt, not have to see smut at the bottomof the forums.

Again not everyone uses firefox so a majority of us see the ads. i spologize for the fact we dont want to use firefox so dont go ranting about we need to get it no to see the ads, that is a sad excuse for someone the get FF.

I do agree on the pornographic material being unsuitable. Itchy should get that changed to a different ad. However, we do still need ads. Say if Itchy makes $500 a month from ads, and $50 in donations. If he cut that ad funding off, but had donation drives, he'd still be stuck with less than $200 a month. The site would be gone in not even 3 months.

This forum doesn't cost 500$ a month to run. I know a forum that has over 50,000 members and over 400,000 posts and the cost isn't even $500 a month. If Itchy is paying anywhere near that then hes getting jipped for his money.

SW is quite a different beast compared to this forum. And, donors have the option of blocking ads, it's not automatic.

Users should understand just like Mabinogi there's bills to be paid, and there's time that the owner of this forum doesn't have an infinite amount of. They should enjoy that a free forum exists where they're not required to give money, but those who do are rewarded for the help with the bills and compensation for time spent.

If there are indeed porn ads... Itchy should make an effort to rectify the situation.

Actually, though it might be larger than the actual costs, there are a LOT of money going into this site right now.

Hosting fees are probably the least of Itchy's problems.
