k wow its like 10:00 here and im about to go to sleep :P

anyways, i had an interesting idea that id like to share. my thoughts are, what if mabiguru had a sort of bonuses shop where you can buy things with guru gold (i.e., donate gold to an admin.) say like, you pay 10k gold to be able to put more images on your sig, pay 15k to change your username into a fancy-schmancy font and color, pay 25k guru gold to get a custom title, etc. does anyone else think this might be a good idea? (i searched to see if this idea had been proposed before, but couldnt find anything.)

EDIT: okay, here is the list of things so far we would like in the shop.

--change usename font
--change username color
--get a custom title
--change forum skin (hell yeah!)
--more lines in siggy (current max is 5 lines)
--more pics in siggy (current max is 1 pic)
--more pm storage
--more smilies in posts
--option to disable smilies (pika would LOVE this)
--more mood options (even though we have tons im sure there are people who want more)
--maybe some icons in text, not just smilies? (i wasnt sure myself where i was going with this)
--able to use less than 4 characters in search (i get pissed off a lot by this)

then the extravagant ideas:

--buying rep (probably not gonna happen due to lots of potential complaints)
--buying nx cards, whoo.


to the admins: im sure that some of these ideas are impossible, but please give this a glance anyway.

yeah, i was also thinking of an actual shop, not just like you donate gold to an admin like what fal is doing with the nao dolls and cards, but like the gold gets subtracted from your account and goes to the site. im a little unsure of the nx cards, as mabiguru will actually have to pay for them. maybe as an event like fal is hosting?

I am very happy that you are putting in more suggestions on what we use for Guru Gold. Looking over all your posts I have come across reasonings that we cannot hold a majority of them though.

I am unsure about this one and how the forum supports different fonts.

--change username color
The username color is essential in distinguishing different member groups; Such as Admins, Moderators, Supporters and Wiki editors. While these colors could be limited, they could also easily confuse new members when it comes to understanding which colors are which groups and makes it harder for them to figure out who to contact for help.

--get a custom title
Custom titles have always been an earned privilege, as it was earned by certain achievement in the forum. It could be seen unreasonable to change this as it may be unfair to those who've already received one. It's a future possibility but I don't think it should be considered as of now.

If I was to add my opinion on this option, I would think it should be free to all members if we had other skins to decide from. The MabiGuru skin we have now had taken a lengthy amount of time to make, and Itchy who is the create of the interface and cosmetics of the forum has not the reasonable time to make another one at this moment.

Signature limits are built in order to Minimize loading times for the forum. This makes it friendly for all types of connections and allows moving around the site to be much quicker and smoother.

As of now (And probably always.) 500 message storage should be more than enough for an inbox. As of right now, I myself haven't even reached that mark.

Smilies are a public option and having the option to pay for new smilies could be easily abused when all it takes is to copy and paste a image link to use the emoticon itself.

It is possible as of right now, but in order to search with less characters than 4 you must use the wildcard keynote.
Instead of typing: Ice
You would type: Ice*
This is disabled in an average search because three letter words would return far to many results, and are too undependable.

The reputation option is just that. It reflects how you have given yourself to the forums what others think about you as a member of the community. Unfortunately buying reputation is to ridiculous compared to the the reasoning it is intended for.

This has always been our highest possibility when it comes to Guru Gold. But unlike all the other options, these cost actual money. When we receive donations and such, the possibilities of these events increase.

I hope this answered all your questions, I know I've pretty much declined all your offers on the matter; I still thank you for showing the effort to promote our community. I am hoping I've made an easier understanding on what we always hope for this forum and how we see things would work out. Well, as Falsetto already covered, some of these look okay while some are an absolute no. Some of them are good ideas but many of them are absolutely horrible.

The only real problem with this idea is that it'll make the admins really busy (mods can't do any of these).

Keep the ideas coming though.
