It's annoying and scares me sometimes when I browsing the forums and I get

the ads are getting really annoying now... but I guess the best I can say is put the sound off on your computer.

I'm not sure what ads you're talking about here in the forums, but that might be because I'm using a pop up ad blocker.

What you do is download Firefox browser (that's what I'm using) Mozilla | Firefox web browser & Thunderbird email client

After that, you can install add-ons to it. Choose to install Adblock Plus.

It will automatically install into your Firefox browser and most of the pop up ads on the net will be blocked by this. You can also easily add another annoying ad which may not yet be blocked simply by just right clicking it and choosing the adblock option to block it, and you're done.

In my personal experience, I haven't had any of those ridiculous noisy pop up ads for almost an entire year, ever since I started using Firefox with adblock.

I hope this works for you. This forum works for me fine without any noisy ads at all.

We're not talking about pop up ads... we're talking about the ones that are attached to the site. The swf ones that you can't exactly right click and vaporize.

The only solution I know of (but I don't know many so it might not be best) is to get the "don't load swf automatically" thing.

But that screws with a lot of sites and its really annoying.

I loaded up mabiguru today and heard TWO voice ads go off at ONCE. Awesome.

Meh, using adblock, I haven't seen any ads on this site at all...including whatever sound ones we're talking about.

Of course, they still show up at school because of IE zzz.

I still preffer my hosts file edit. Needing addons/seperate software just to block ads is retarded IMO.
