--------------------------------

--------------------------------

A basic guide that will explain and list some methods of getting, obtaining, and making gold. It's also for beginners.

Just to start off, gold is the currency in this game, like it is in many games.

Gold is carried as item unlike many game where you can carry a huge amount (I.E. Maplestory can carry 2.1bil on a person). So a character is limited how much she or he can hold in their inventory. You may also store gold in the bank. The limit is 2mil gold in Bank per Character you have on the account.

A persons inventory is 6x10, or basically 60 squares/units

0~1000 Gold = 1x1 Slots
10k & 50k Gold Bags = 2x2 Slots Each

Money Bags can be bought from General Shop NPC’s

Now, my “List of How to Make Gold”
Random Order

Monsters
One of the most basic ways of getting gold, just basically killing monsters. As like many to all games, many harder monsters do tend to drop a larger amount than lower monsters

Fomor Scrolls
You basically get 10 fomor scrolls from monsters and exchange them for gold through a Fomor Quest. The amount of gold depends on the monsters, such as most weaker will give less as stronger will give more. The exchange quest can be bought fromthe NPC Duncan, the Chief of Tir and Eavan in Dunbarton Sqaure. There are as well many other NPC's who provide Fomor Quests. You can also get Fomor Quests from fishing which give more gold then a normal Fomor Quest gotten from a NPC.

Not all monsters drop Fomor Scrolls.

Dungeon Runs
Basically do runs in dungeons. How does this make money? Well I'll use Ciar Beginner as a example since its very good for beginners.

Ciar Beginner Dungeon Passes can be first obtained by Ranald, who is located at the School of Tir Chonaill; its free. Once you’ve obtain the pass, just head to Ciar dungeon by taking the Northeast route in Tir and follow it until you get there.

For Ciar Beginner Dungeon, you’ll find many easy monsters but the gold drop isn’t exactly high… to obtain a lot of gold, you pick up the Fomor Scrolls dropped by them. You can find 5 different Fomor Scrolls in Ciar Beginner, Goblin, Poison Goblin, Mimic, Gray Town Rat and Brown Town Rat. After you obtain 10 of the same kind, you can exchange them for a small amount of gold.

You can just repeat this over and over since you can get multiple Ciar Beginner Passes and it doesn’t really require much effort except at the Small Golem if your still new.

Part-time Jobs
This is a simple way to earn some change. Talk to a NPC, then click “start conversation” and click “Part-Time Job". You will be given a job from transporting items here and there, or making clothing, or obtaining items. After you’ve completed them, you return and are rewarded; there are multiple rewards for many part time jobs.

Each job starts at a different time, to know when a job begins, there is usually a sign post near the NPC and if you move your cursor onto it, it will say the time the job can start.

NoteI: Not all NPC’s provide Part-Time Jobs
NoteII: When a Part-Time Job has been completed a certain amount of times, rewards will increase (50 Successful times, 100 Successful times)

Holy Water

This one is linked with Part-Time Jobs. Any Church NPC Part-Time Job you do, you will receive Holy Water. You can sell these for a nifty price in stacks of 10.

Vending
Basically sell items you find or make to other players. You can make items multiple ways such as Clothing from Tailoring, Weapons/Armor from Blacksmithing, Food from Cooking, and so on. Or selling items found like materials for life skills such as Herbs or Leather. Ores are very profiable in the market and has a high want.

There is a vending system which allows you to set up a shop which requires a backpack and a permit, the backpack can be bought from General Shop NPC's and Permits are obtainable from Bank NPC's. This also requires Extra Storage Service (Premium Shop Function).

Pets can also vend items for you without wasting any of their time usage so you can leave your pet to vend while you do other things.

You can also try vending by putting up a Party Advertisement by opening up a party and type in exactly what you want to sell and just leave it up for a while and everyone in the channel will see it every while or so.

You can try vending items on this site or buy them as well -> Market Forums

Quests
This is a very easy way to make money, though it is very limited, in the beginning of the game, you are given many quests, and most provide gold. There are quests at higher level as well which will provide more gold. When you complete the quest, you will obtain gold.

Quest Reward Example:

Party Quests
This is pretty much another quest but its a bit different, you can redo these as much as you want and require a party of 2 people. You also have to buy the scrolls to start, Duncan and Eavan sell them as well as other NPC's. You can also get Party Quests from fishing which give more gold and exp than normal. When you complete the quest, you will obtain both EXP and Gold. When completed, the total EXP and Gold is split through the party. You may only have one party quest on at a time and require 2 people to do and finish the PQ.

Gems
You may notice that you find theses "small gems" and such from hitting objects and from monsters, well, you can trade these gems in for cash as well, I don't mean NPC'ing them. They still come at a very little price, or you can change 5 for a gem of a higher level, from what ive seen the highest gem is a small silver which 5 can be traded for 1.2k. I don't recommend this method unless you find a lot of red or even silver gems.

Gem Exchange Chart:
x5 = 5 EXP / x1

x5 = 10 EXP / x1 or 10 EXP / 20

x5 = 20 EXP / x1 or 20 EXP / 50

x5= 50 EXP / x1 or 50 EXP / 200

x5= 100 EXP / 1200

They can be exchanged from buying a scroll from the NPC Caitin and Nora of Tir Chonaill.

These gems also have their own purposes as well such as for G1 Albey Dungeons.

Normal/ Big / Huge Lucky Finish
When finishing a monster off, there is a small chance of it dropping a lot of gold. Having more LUCK will increase this chance, not sure on the exact percentage.

There is also a normal Lucky Hit and Big Lucky Hit which does give you more than normal as well but not even close to Huge Lucky.

Elementals
Basically selling elementals.

You can obtain them easily by using the "Extract" option on any Sprite monster but you must have a corresponding Wand. Such as a Lightning Wand for a Lightning Sprite. Once you click "Extract" will a Lightning Wand equipped, your character will move to the Sprite and gather elementals using a animation like gathering herbs. Of course you can only get 1 at a time but multiple times and they only take around 1 sec to gather 1. There is as well a limit per Sprite.

After obtaining them, you can basically just sell or vend them, you can as well try to sell Mass Elements which can be made using a Quest Scroll from certain NPC's, one being Stewart in Dunbarton's School.

They sell quite low.

Merchanting

This method can be found in many other MMO's, maybe even all. You basically buy something for less and sell it for higher. One easy example of this would be Random Dye Ampules. Lets say you found a lot of cheap ones, maybe 10 dyes 10,000 gold each and bought them all, then you can basically sell them to another player for more, maybe 15,000 each, basically making about 50,000 gold profit which not seem like much but it will be if you manage to do this enough with many items.

Though be careful using this method, you don't want to buy something you know you won't be able to sell for more than you bought.
